Ice maker causing issues, loud grinding

We have a whirlpool side-by-side fridge, model no. WRS321SDHZ08.
The fridge started to emit a loud grinding noise you can hear all over the house. This was paired with a problem of not making any ice. At the same time, water would not come out of the dispenser in the front of the fridge. If I left the ice maker on while the issue persisted, it would lead to temperature fluctuation in all parts of the fridge/freezer. When i turned the fridge off overnight and turned it back on in the morning, it would produce a few rounds of ice throughout the day, but return to the loud grinding noise/no ice production/no water dispensing.
It is only a few years old. Water filter is routinely replaced. Coils underneath cleaned routinely since we have shedding dogs.

- history of faults/repairs
- is it under wty?
- can I hear a sample of the sound?
- this model has fault indicator lights. You haven't described what they are doing.
- is it connected to water?
- have you attempted to follow any of the fault finding steps from the manual?
