The PowerMac G5 is a desktop computer first produced in 2003 by the Apple Corporation. This guide will review the repair process of an Apple PowerMac G5 model number A1047 EMC 2061 from 2004. It was discontinued in 2006 as part of the Intel switch first to developers then consumers.

Help Identifying a Part from a G5 PowerMac

I'm currently reassembling a 2005 G5 2.0 GHz DP, M9747LL/A.

I have the following part but I can't remember where it came from, and I've not documented it in my photos I took during disassembly.

Can anyone help identify it?

Thanks.

What did you do? That might offer a hint where to look.

I did a complete teardown as it was the most filthiest computer I've ever come across.

It was likely removed after the motherboard came out. Maybe somewhere around the HDD holders.

It's been quite awhile since I've worked on these older systems I keep thinking it's a logic board stand off holding the board off of the side panel (bottom side of logic board). Just behind the PCI slots you should see some holes where the pins and latch tab pass through to secure it.

I've added two more photos, do you mean in that area?

I realise it's a bit vague, and it is my own fault for not paying enough attention when taking it apart. But I do appreciate everyone's input on this.

Found it, it covers a cable on the lower left of the board near the RAM slots.
