Battery Board Data Cable broke off

I have a MacBook Pro A2251 2020 13 inch model, screen broke recently. I bought a replacement off eBay here in the UK and was following the instructions here on how to replace it. Unfortunately whilst doing so, the latch broke off and went flying, and now I cant find it.

I have been able to find the replacement cable online but not the little latch. What are my options here if any? I have tried googling it and even looked at buying completely broken Macs and using the latch from those but that would be quite expensive. Other option is I guess to plug the cable in and then glue/solder it down? Would this work? Is there anything else I can do?

You can try messaging The BookYard to see if they can assist, but it is more probable that you'll have to find the whole connector part from a donor board which maybe a task, try contacting some repair techs from a YT channel such as Adamant_IT to see if they can help. Gluing or soldering it down is a bad idea as it will most likely not work and even more likely it will cause major issues.

I've seen another answer on another forum that said to use Kapton tape to hold it down, a really thin strip - reckon that's better then nothing?

@yusufabdulla165 The Kapton tape method is a kinda last resort,..... but this can make the fitting very tight to connect and it may likely damage the cables pins and potentially cause a short if the have crossed or bent off....
