Air conditioning not cold

When you say that it turns on, can you hear if the air con's compressor clutch is engaging when you turn the air con on?

There should be a clunk sound as it engages the air con compressor with the engine's serpentine belt.

Safely park the car and then with handbrake applied and the transmission in Neutral (MT) or Park (AT), open the hood and then stand next to the engine.

Get someone to start the engine and then after it has started, get them to turn on the air con.

If you hear a clunk sound coming from the engine area, then the clutch is engaging and if the air con doesn't get cold then there may be a problem with the compressor or perhaps there's a lack of refrigerant, due to a leak.

If you don't hear the sound then it may be an electrical problem e.g. blown air con compressor fuses or a faulty air con relay in the engine bay fuse block or a faulty air con electric clutch perhaps.

What is the model year of the vehicle and what have you checked?
