MacBook won’t detect RAM

Hey Guys,

So I was trying to use my mid-2010 MacBook Unibody, but when I try to turn it on it won’t detect any RAM (beeps every 5 sec.)

I thought it was my RAM stick failing so I ordered new RAM.

But when I tried using it with the new RAM it was still beeping.

My idea is that my RAM slots are now failing, so does anyone know how I can fix this issue?

(I made sure that the RAM I was buying was compatible with my Mac, so this shouldn’t be an issue)

Do review this guide if you have’t MacBook Unibody Model A1342 RAMの交換. You might want to use a fresh pencil eraser (still soft) to wipe the contact’s as there could be come tarnish on the module, also make sure the module is fully inserted into the slot.

You could see if loosing the two screws which hold the carrier helps, besides that, the latches may not be holding the modules tight enough. You could try taking a cut up plastic credit card, a small strip of 5mm which you can slide under the latch and between the module.

Beyond this is will require replacing the logic board as the carrier part is a rare part and it’s not easy to replace logic bd P/N 661-5640
