Logic board swap for 13" MacBook Air 2011 A1369

The Ultimate Guide to Apple’s Proprietary SSDs the 2011 systems use a different blade SSD which means you’ll need to get a replacement that meets your needs.

Get an 8GB system for sure, as a 4GB system is too lean memory wise which tends to wear out the SSD.

You may want to run the numbers to review your costs, I’m sure you can find used systems which other than a worn battery will more that meet your needs for a lot less! A i7 with 8GB and 1 or 2TB SSD. I just snagged an Early 2013 for $240 as a Xmas gift for a 12yo I tutor.

I haven't had a 2010-2011 model but I think the 2011 and 2012 share the same I/O board for the camera connection and microphone connection on the I/O board, so a logic board swap should fit and work. Also, It may get complicated also with the track pad as I am not certain they are the same so you may need to swap that over also..... It gets a bit more complicated after 2013 models for a board swap etc as I am often in the situation of finding parts from other non repairable units and hit snags especially with I/O boards and microphone connections....I have seen some YT videos upgrading the RAM to 16GB but am not sure if it is possible on 2011 models. The fastest you'll get of this generation of MacBook Airs would be the identical 2015 & 2017 i7 2.2 Ghz versions which both have the 8 GB RAM and run OS 12 Monterey.

The 2012 logicboard's screen and battery connector won't fit in 2011 case. Screen cable is too short and battery connector is different.
