Why does it sound distorted?

Why does it sound distorted? Every time I try to turn it on, the blue light appears one time, there is no voice and it appears that the Bluetooth isn't working. Once I have them on they sound distorted and the only way they work is through the wire they bring, but even with that the audio is still distorted/alters sounds.
