DVD Drive Making Clicking Sound

My Xbox disc drive keeps making this “clicking” sound whenever I insert a disc. Sometimes it manages to load, sometimes it shows an error. Is the lens just dirty, or do I need a replacement?

Try cleaning the lens first.

It could just be that the clicking sound is the laser lens shuttle, tracking back and forth across the disc trying to find the TOC (Table of Contents) on the disc to know where to start and can't read it.

Cleaning discs (examples only) are available.
