I believe the hing of my machine is broken, and i was reading elsewhere that this is the palm assembly, but that was for an xps 15, and when isearched on dell's site under my service tag it didn't have that part. Is there somewhere i can buy the replacement part needed?

Although it doesn't look like iFixit has this part, I have always had good luck with parts-people.com, who do. And the pictures do have a good view of where the display attaches to the chassis. Those plastic stand offs do break fairly commonly and it makes the screen difficult to close.
This occurs in other devices as well, since it's a common way of handling this mechanism.

Thanks for the link, do yo u know of other sites that might also sell the part. I was thinking of getting the battery as well to get the free shipping threshold, but they're out of stock. Found them on ebay but also from different sellers, are are familiar with any other sites?
