Activity Monitor crashes when selecting the Energy tab

Activity Monitor is consistently crashing immediately after selecting the Energy tab. I performed a clean OS installation and it still happens. I've got macOS Sonoma installed and recently had a battery replacement. This seems to have been a common OS bug on some previous OS's, so hoping it's just somehow software related (but not sure why a clean OS install wouldn't resolve that). Note that I've already tried deleting the com.apple.AcitivityMonitor plist file in ~/Library/Preferences but it didn't change anything.

Thanks!

Let’s double check that replacement battery, install this Gem of an App CoconutBattery let’s see what it reports back post a snapshot of the apps main window here so we can see it too.

@zpl - mmm… something’s off here! Your system was manufactured in 2019/20 time frame, now looking at the battery we see it’s microcode has the battery dated back to 2015! So it’s possible Activity Monitor is crashing because we have a time warp! It’s reasonable to have a newer battery than the system, just not the other way around!

Interesting! I'll try swapping the battery with another to see if it still happens and let you know. Thanks!

@zpl - Make sure you do a hard SMC reset. Basically, after you pull the battery press and hold the power button to fully discharge the logic board. Just to be sure this batteries setting is not cached in SMC.
