My Roomba (Ruby) would come out of her charging station, move maybe 10 feet and shut down with error 26. I replaced the motor suction fan and the battery since I had her apart, cleaned her up real nice, put her back together and “look at Ruby go!” Working perfectly. Lots of great “how to” videos on YouTube and so easy to disassemble and reassemble.

Same here, I fixed this issue after replacing the motor of the sucction fan and the error got away. Also, I got difficulty to separate the fan and the motor had to put quite some strengh to have it out.
One more thing the fan has some broken fan blade, not sure I can replace this fan some days.
Looks like nobody is selling this specific part.
How do you separate the motor from the fan. I am having the same issue, but cant get the two pieces apart and I bought a replacement motor only through Amazon. With the fan module it is way more expensive, but I figured I could get them apart. Now I'm stuck ☹️

Error 26 on a Roomba means the vacuum is experiencing insufficient airflow. Here are some things you can try:
You can also try opening the motor assembly and clearing dust.
Can you share your exact model number? The model number is printed near the left wheel, on the underside of the robot.

Is the motor working too hard to turn the fan blade?
I opened up everything to get to the dowel of the fan blade.
I tried turning it by hand a bit firm when I did.
The dowel which has approximately 3 washers (two are together) on it.
After removing all of them, I put 1 drop of oil and graphite powdere onthe dowl where each one of the washers isand where they touch each other or the housing. (especailly important is where the dowel attaches to the plastic housing)
After this I put it all back together and turned it again by hand which moved more freely than before.
It has been working GREAT ever since.

I have done all of the steps above that you recommended including taking a q tip and cleaning the fan blades. Still same problem

What is your exact model number? The Cleaning Head Module probably needs to be replaced. If you can give me the model I can find the right part for you!

Just fixed my i8 error 26 by removing fan only not motor and cleaning. Runs good now. Will install a better fan that small and dont get stuck.

Hi all
On my side I have fixed this issue by replacing the motor of the fan, it was apparently tired and replacing it was the solution for fixing this issue.
I purchased the part on Aliexpress

Hi,
After cleaning filter、lubricating the motor, error was still there. I Finally bought a Clean Head module for replacing, but still got error 26.
Anyone has idea how to fix this problem？

I would recommend to try replacing the motor fan. This what fix the error for me.

I dealt with Error 26. It’s usually an airflow issue. Most people just change the filter, but you often need to clean or change the fan or the cleaning head module. I found a video with 5 tricks to help you out on Youtube : https://youtu.be/NmKL_syTkIA
