Hello, I’m glad you asked. Replacing the battery on your Huawei Watch GT 3 is not a very difficult task, but it does require some tools and patience. You can follow these steps to do it yourself:

  • First, you need to get a replacement battery that is compatible with your watch model.
  • Next, you need to remove the four Torx T3 screws that hold the back cover of your watch.
  • Then, you need to pry open the back cover using an opening pick or a credit card.
  • After that, you need to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard using a spudger or a tweezers.
  • Next, you need to remove the old battery from the back cover using the spudger. It may be glued in place, so you may need to apply some heat to loosen the adhesive.
  • Finally, you need to install the new battery in the same place and reconnect the battery connector. Then, you need to put the back cover back and screw it in. Press the power button to test your watch.

This guide for Huawei Watch GT 3 Motherboard & Daughterboard Replacement can get you most of the way to replacing your battery.

I hope this helps you fix your watch. If you have any other questions, please let me know. 😊

@kingofspades I know you must think I am out to get you. I am not. I just am very, very very concerned about using AI in this environment. Right now, you are not convincing me that this is a good thing.

Second bullet point links to https://www.bing.com/search?q=how+to+rep... but not to anywhere where you can get a T3 screwdriver.

Third bullet point links to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNlHRHCR... which shows how to replace the battery but it most certainly does not relate to the iFixit opening picks

Links in the fourth bullet point go to a youtube video that show how to replace the battery. Redundant and confusing,. The ifixit guide already addressed on what tools and how to use them. Techno babble at its finest.

Fifth bullet point does not link to anything related to the iOpener. It just links back to this question. The one we are on right now. Why? AI? Take the I out. it ain't there.

The last link just links to the Huawei Watch GT 3 Repair device page but not a video for a visual guide.

There is so much fluff and techno babble which turns into smoke and mirror. 90% of this is not relevant. You are responsible for the content of your AI. Verify the regurgitated information that your AI gives you before you post it.

@oldturkey03

I thought that too but at least the "start guide" link at the bottom of the answer (when you step through it) does show the battery removal, that is if it's the same for all models of the watch

@jayeff okay that makes it 85% irrelevant :-) I feel bad for the person because I think the intentions are good. kingofspades just wants to help and answer questions, but I am following this AI thing since yesterday and it is just "blah, blah, blah". It can't think (I now it can't but it is really well, not bright) and just regurgitates the stuff that other people worked on. It seems unethical on so many levels but maybe I am just overthinking it. I still think there should be a notice that explains that these answers were created by AI and reflects the work of hundreds of people over hundreds off hours.

@oldturkey03 sorry i havent been reading my comments i just finished dinner and checked the notifications. i do not think your out to get me. your only trying to ensure the safety and legitimacy of the methods i provide. From now on ill make sure to include all ansswers were created by ai and half worded by me. I understand the AI is not very suited for hardware repairs and whatnot as ive noticed , so ill mostly answer unanswered hardware questions you GOATS havent. But ill mostly do unanswered software questions as the AI seems to be relatively accurate at.

@oldturkey03 @jayeff @King0fSpades05 Firstly, thanks for the implication.

A few disclaimers here. I am a bit tech savvy, I already opened the watch without any guide and got close to removing the battery but I did not find a single resource on the web on how to remove it / if there are connectors under it etc. Since the battery is on top of the sensors for this watch, it is quite tricky.

I also use AI, however, I agree with @oldturkey03 that this is not the space for it. The video is of a Huawei phone, not a watch. The Ifixit guides are for different watch models etc.

The information since it is so different in this case, is easy to spot as fake, but the danger is if it was closer to the truth, people and their devices could get hurt.

In this case, gladly it only takes time to go through it and nothing else, at least no ribbon connector or anything was broken.
