Replaced Main Board 5 Blinking Red Light

Hello everyone. I have a XBR-65X850E that got hit by lightning. It still worked but 2 HDMI and the Ethernet port got smoked. I ordered a new Main board and now after I install the board and boot with the flash drive with the latest update I see it updating and after about 5 minutes I hear a click and get 5 blinking red lights. I have tried 2 different main boards and same thing. What else can I try or do. Remember everything worked with my old board.

Thanks so much for the info. I am not an electronic expert but know enough to be dangerous. I found cn400 on the mail board. Which pins am I looking for 12 volts. I have 2 supposed good boards and they are both doing the same thing. Is there a way to test the Tcon board. If you can highlight components I can test. Thanks again for the help.

@justinstatham the 5 blink code for your model means that "Panel ID EEPROM I2C No ACK (Also panel power failure is a suspect) [P_ID_ERR]" The most likely defective part for that is the T-con board. Of course it is also possible that this is a panel error but follow the Sony Flowchart and see what you can come up with. G/JK board is the power board and BMKS is the main board.

@justinstatham "but know enough to be dangerous" sounds like the majority of us :-)

Anyhow, C400 is different than CN400. C 400 refers to a capacitor. It is actually located under the silver heatsink. Since you have a new board x2, I think we are okay (for now) with making the assumption that it works.

I attached the image of the T-con board with the test points that I have some information ion. It should give us a pretty good idea. Check the fuse for power and continuity. All those test will have to be conducted with the TV turned on, so your power supply will be live. Make sure you do not touch it with your bare hands. It'll bite and will leave some lasting impressions. Be careful around it.
