TCL (originally Telephone Communication Limited, rebranded commercially to The Creative Life) is a massive Chinese electronics giant best known globally for its aggressive market share in budget-to-midrange TVs, display manufacturing, and white-goods home appliances. Historically, TCL operated in the mobile space behind the scenes—building devices under license for iconic names like BlackBerry, Alcatel, and Palm. In recent years, however, TCL phased out licensing to focus purely on building its own direct consumer brand.
