As it says... either pull it off or slide under it with a thin blade, no?

The MDM is tied to the S/N, and the managed status is persistently stored in NVRAM. The only way it gets removed is a power flush. It will eventually be restored once you connect it to the internet. Once it sees it has the MDM tie, it sticks with persistence again. It's effectively a death loop. The sysadmin has to remove the Chromebook from their management system to get rid of it (be it Google MDM or JAMF, to name two).

This can't be removed any other way. If the folks with the chops to reverse engineer these (or at least, figure it out) could find a way around it we'd know and have found a method, which would be somewhat widespread.
Ex: MDM locked Chromebooks where it was "hacked out" of the machine would be trophies to make the people who doubted it could be done see it can be done. I'd even have a shot at a few and preserve the S/N myself to clown the sysadmin at my high school who was a pain, especially given MDM locks are the end of the line.

Its actually relatively easy to change the serial number.

@jimmywoods CR-48 only. CR-49 models fixed the CLI hack. Plus any admin who isn't a clown blocks the dev mode needed to do it.

First of all, it's unlikely your computer has a special chip just for the enrollment, so I doubt what you want to do is actually possible.

Second, there's certainly no way we could help without knowing what make and model your Chromebook is.

Third, removing enrollment almost certainly violates statutes, laws or ethics, and iFixit does not encourage nor aid activities like those.

@dadibrokeit It’s tied to the serial number. Needs a motherboard at 60-70% of the cost of a clean one to fix.

If there was a way around it, do you not think I'd be interested in exploring it? Wouldn't help here but I'd be poking at a few of them to see how easy the hack is.
