Hi,

What version Intel GPU drivers are installed?

Version 27.20.100.9664, A06 (12th Oct.2021) is the latest version from Dell, for both Win 10 64-bit and also Win 11.

Click on "Manually find a specific driver for your Alienware m15 R2" Find drivers > Category > Video (2) then scroll down the page to find the Intel drivers.

There are also older versions available from the same link if the latest version causes problems. Version 27.20.100.8935 A05 (5th Jan. 2021) is marked as critical.

Yes, i install exactly that driver from dell's website, but it didnt worked.

I wanted to add one more detail: Laptop was working very hot (100 Degrees). Alienware were telling that is not a problem for this laptop and it can handle this temparatures, but i am thinking that something over heated and this problem happened.

@lazarusdarkside

Can you feel the hot air coming from the vents for both of the fans (CPU and GPU) to indicate that they're both operating (especially the GPU fan)?

If there's a problem with the fan(s), here's the service manual that may help.

Go to p.44 to view how to remove the fan and heat sink assembly.

If you do have to remove the assembly it may be a good chance to check/refresh the thermal paste on the CPU and the GPU as it may have dried out and become less effective.

I always check thermal paste and pads each 6 months. Also both fans working well. There is alienware diagnostic which i can use also and its passing that too.

@lazarusdarkside

maybe try installing an older version of the Intel drivers and then check.

The other option is to maybe install the latest Intel drivers but not the latest Nvidia drivers i.e. go back 1 or 2 versions perhaps and then check. it may be incompatibility between the drivers.

Starting in safe mode means that no specific hardware drivers are installed, only Windows generic drivers so it would mean that it is definitely driver related.

You wouldn't be the first to run in problems with Nvidia and having to roll back to the previous version after updating due to problems.

Have you also got the latest BIOS firmware installed? 1.17.0, 1.17.0 released on 08/08/2022

さんによる

Yeah, i try couple different bios even. I also try different intel drivers. I guess problem is releated with hardware.
