Can you not clean it of corrosion? A small metal brush should be able to clean all the corrosion from the batteries out, and then it should be fine.
I haven't been able to find anyone that has the battery cartridges in stock. You could always change it to a rechargeable battery pack. Wowwee's website has those in-stock.
mix some baking soda with water and using a q-tip dab it and rub off the corrosion. when you get it clean than apply some dielectric grease and it shouldn’t corrode again at least not for a very long time.
