Black screen after liquid spilled on it

Hello everyone, I have a MacBook Pro A1398 mid 2015 computer. In the past some water was poured on it and since then the screen has turned black. And the keyboard lighting does not work. All other parts work. I work on a computer with an external monitor. Works great. I did a test with a flashlight in the Apple logo see image. But the screen is black. Keyboard lighting is less urgent for me to fix. How can I diagnose the fault on the board? We have almost no computer labs. Attaches a picture of the logic board and screen device. There's a little black on one of the pins. What can I do at my level?

This will take some serious effort to fix! Are you a brain surgeon? I’m not either!

This is beyond what most of us can do, you need to find someone with micro-soldering skills and has access to the needed parts to fix your systems logic board. Hopefully you have access to someone with the skills.

Liquid damage is always risky even after the fact years later.

thank you for the answer . Of course I did not try to solve it alone. I have someone who deals with electronic boards but not computers. Can I make a diagnosis of which part went and I will bring him the parts so he can fix it for me? I have a multimeter if it helps to check fuses etc.

@אלמוג שטרית - I feel your pain! It hurts when a needed tool stops working. Sadly, this will take much more than a multimeter to fix. You'll need to find the schematics and boardview drawings and carefully test the power rails to isolate out which components are damaged. Then the liquid damage has likely eaten into the copper traces so you'll need to add patch lines to fix the board. And that's still not getting into locating the required parts. Which is why this is not a DIY project.

Do you have a mac repair shop nearby? If not I would just replace the logic board as that would be the easies way. Click on the blue links above for deeper details.

How long ago was the liquid damage?

As time passes, it would become much harder and harder to fix. We are talking about hours if not minutes. If someone in your area knows how to repair this exact logic-board, they may be able to fix it rather replacing.

Macbook Logic-boards are usually very different than all other electronic circuit boards. I would take it to someone who specializes in Logic-board repair rather than replacing it or giving it to someone who has an electronic repair shop. Of-course replacing it would solve the issue from the board side, but you need to test the screen also to make sure it doesnt short your new logic-board after you replace your board or repair your board, just in case your screen backlight is gone, it could damage the new logic-board you would install. It has happened to me before.

I suggest taking it to a Macbook repair shop in your area. (This link I left is from Montreal, not sure where you live, just search Macbook Repair and see what pops)
