Samsung TV permanent vertical lines

Vertical lines can be a processing issue or a connection issue. Usually, these are due to poor connections between the processing board and the panel. If you feel confident enough, remove the back of the assembly, then remove and reinsert the ribbon cables to access the panel. This will often solve the problem. Be careful as these cables are delicate and can be easily damaged. The connectors should have "locking tabs" which also need to be released to get the cables out. If this reinstallation does not resolve the problem, further investigation is necessary and should be performed by an experienced repair shop.

I have a SAMSUNG 46” TV MODEL# LN46C630 manufactured

April 2010. Has a really crisp picture, so I don't want to replace it. The vertical color lines started appearing and a light smack on the back of TV would clear it up for a short while. I thought It must be a loose connection.After removing the back cover all cables were connected solid. No evidences of burned out computer boards parts. I did notice the LCD screen was very hot. Solution; put a small fan on uncovered back of unit. That was three days ago and I have had no more vertical line problems.

Replace cover and place fan blowing on lower air vent holes. LCD Screen is running much cooler and no vertical lines have appeared in five days. Hope this solution for my TV will help someone else. Bill H.
