I managed to tear apart my keyboard ribbon that connects the motherboard to the keyboard during thermal paste replacement and now I have no keyboard functionality because of the missing ribbon connector for keyboard. Will another keyboard ribbon from Macbook pro 13” 2019 function? Any other ribbon except the OEM one? Thank you so much!

The ribbon is clearly torn. Macbook is able to turn itself on and will function as standard, provided I connect an external keyboard to it. Thank you!

Ouch! Yes you do need a new cable how does the logic board & upper case connectors look? Are they OK.
