New battery not being recognized

I just replaced my battery last weekend and my MacBook isn’t recognizing it -system report shows no battery connected. I’ve tried restarting, resetting the smc, the pram, and all of that. Should be noted that the pram doesn’t seem to reset properly - I don’t hear any noise and it doesn’t attempt restart. Has anyone else had this problem?
