Home button click function

Hello, I am about to replace my iPad mini 3 digitizer but I have an issue with the home button. Maybe something gone wrong during the disassembly process but now I see that the black pin in the middle of home button is missing (see the picture) . This pin is the one that gets in contact with the metal bracket and guarantee the click function. How can I fix this issue? Do I have to replace the home button with a new one?

The easiest way to fix it would be to replace the button. You’ll just lose TouchID. But if you want to maintain that, some skilled micro soldering techs can fix that little button.

Many thanks for your answer, what does it mean loosing the touchID? Could it has some bad effects in my IPad functionality? In the meantime I found a video about a possible replacement without soldering (see the link below) but I have not found in internet, the mentioned black nub.

Does anyone have experience with this type of replacement?

@Francesco Marianucci I'm in a facebook group with that guy and he has great tutorials. But yeah that's what I was getting at. But you're going to want to be very careful as if you damage the turtle IC chip in the home button, you can't repair it and that's what I mean when you will lose touchID. That button is paired or programmed specifically to that device's board. Even if you had a genuine button from another device, it will tell you touchID cannot be verified.

@hootonberg Many thanks again for your comment. In the end to avoid any problems I bought a new home button.. I hope it will work...
