Which SSD 500gb for a 2009 27” iMac is recommended
Hi, I’m looking for recommendations please for an SSD 500gb drive upgrade to a late 2009 27” IMac. Was thinking of something like this:

You will need a drive that is backward compatible to SATA II 3.0Gb/s. Most are just SATA III 6.0 Gb/s.

@brennain1 - Sadly this SSD is a fixed SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) you'll need to locate a fixed SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) drive or one that offers auto sense technology like Samsung 860 EVO spec sheet
Note the Interface line on the Samsung drive states: SATA 6 Gbps Interface, compatible with SATA 3 Gbps & 1.5 Gbps interfaces, unlike the WD which only lists SATA III 6 Gb/s

Thanks Dan I hadn’t realised, I’m a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to these things. So would mine presently be SATA 3 or SATA 1.5 GBPs?

Here's your systems specs: A1312 As you can see all the systems in this series have SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) HD ports.
