USB-c in port doesnt work

I cant get my usb-c plug to go all the way in. Much of what I have read is to clean the port, which I have done. It looks to me like the port is not seated properly. I want to open the case and look inside. The station is an SIIG diplaylink 5K. I am including pictures of the unit, and a pic with the plug part way in.
