Replace Ignition Control Module

I have a 1989 Olds Cutlass Ciera 2.5L 4cyl

After driving for 20 to 30 minutes my car will suddenly stall. I wait about 10 minutes and it'll start back up again. It runs for another 10 to 20 minutes (or 5 minutes at times) then stalls again.

I changed the fuel pump relay and that seemed to do the trick but then I didn't really drive more than quick in town trips. The first time I took it out of town on the highway it stalled 3 times. It took me an hour and a half when it usually takes half an hour at most. It stalled once on the way home. The next morning I went out to start my car and it wouldn't start. It cranks, gets fuel but just won't fire. I was told by my mechanic that it's the ignition control module. My son is going to try to fix it since my mechanic is down with the flu. We don't have a repair manual so I'm looking for some detailed instructions. Can anyone help?
