Why no volume out if speakers?

Fisher home stereo 9125. Need to turn volume way up to hear anything out of speakers. And it’s still not much. All wires are hooked up right.

Hi @lawnguy ,

It appears as though there may be a problem with the amplifier section of the receiver.

You need to open up the receiver and check for any stressed components on the circuit boards, i.e burnt out components or blown or domed capacitors etc.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a schematic of the receiver online, you may have better luck.

You could also check if all the various power rails in the receiver are OK and are supplying the specified voltages.

If you see anything amiss, post some pictures back here.

Here's how to do this. iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法

have you tried each source like CD, AUX etc, is it isolated to one source or all of them?

speakers are defiantly wired to the correct polarity? have you added any other speakers or wires or is it all standard audio? has it always done this or is it a new stereo?
