Does it do this with the charger connected and switched on?
Try starting the phone in safe mode and check if the problem still occurs. (You didn't state the model number so hopefully the method to get into safe mode works on your model).
If it is OK when in safe mode, then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one.
