Laptop not turning on and isn’t reaching full charge
Hi all,
I left my macbook air charging and it reached full charge (light was green) but when I went to use my mac a day later, it was dead and refused to turn on. Its been on charge for over 12 hours but the charger light is still orange and my mac still wont turn on. I’ve tried turning up the brightness, using a different wall outlet, I’ve cleaned out the charging area so there is no debris blocking the charger. I’ve also tried resetting the SMC multiple times but my mac still won’t turn on. My charger itself is definitely not the problem as I switched it out and used a different one yet the same problem occurs.
There was no warning that something was wrong and it just stopped working out of nowhere. I’ve also only had this mac for ~18 months as I bought it in late 2017 so am at a loss as to how anything has gone wrong considering how new and well taken care of it is.
If anyone can help I’d really appreciate it.
Update (07/29/2019)
Ended up taking it to Apple in the morning - was a problem with the logic board, not the battery, and needs to be replaced. Its covered under consumer law warranty (in Australia at least, if its under 2 yrs old) so if anyone else has this problem I’d recommend just taking it to the Genius Bar.
FYI - The test was to check the logic board.
I'm happy your got your system fixed under your countries 2 year warranty law. Not all countries have this.
