I ordered O2 sensors but they were wrong.
I looked online for oxygen sensors for my 1997 Volkswagen Jetta. All resources that i researched says that there is both an upstream and a downstream o2 sensor. Well i ordered them and when i went to change them i could only find one, on the front side, or the intake of the catalytic converter. Another problem is that the plug connector is rectangular on the car and the plug on the o2 sensors that I bought are oval, and do not fit at all. I tried to look everywhere online to find an answer, but with no results at all. I Need help.

Peter, where are you located? What engine size is your Jetta?

It is a 2.0 liter, made in Mexico. I am located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. The sensor is on the catalytic converter, but its on the upstream end of the converter. I looked on the exhaust manifold, and there is no sensor on it at all, plus there isn't even a place to put one. I looked everywhere i could to see if i could find a second plug connector that perhaps wasn't hooked up, but nothing. I have done a deal of homework on this situation but with no avail.
