Why won't my game save?

I have a copy of Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages and it won't save my game. I'll save and turn it off and it deletes my save. The battery in it is working perfectly fine and is not dead. Any suggestions as to why?

I suppose you are mentioning about the battery inside your cartridge.

Had you check for the voltages with a multimeter?

I have checked the voltage and I bought a new battery, they both have similar voltage. I had a guy at a video game store replace it too but no luck.
