Fan conn broke off L-board, can I wire it to another point on L-board?

I hardly ever use the laptop, so I don't care if the fan is always on. This part had been broken for years

Thank you for trying to help. I will try to upload the picture

Can you take some clear pictures of the parts as well as the logic board location so we can see the damage iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法

As it turns out you can fix this quit easily! You’ll need to clean the logic board a bit as you have some junk (glue?) which needs to be cleaned off. Getting a replacement socket soldering it down, and getting a replacement fan is all you need here.

Anyone any idea if i can copy my drive onto an ssd, and preserve the exact same dual operating system, Mac and windows 10?

Typically each connection is report to the operating system as functioning or not. The connection breaking off the logic board could prevent you from running the system all together as wiring it through another connection point is going to still fail to report that specific fan from being reports and would likely cause potential kernel errors and crashes due to the systems desire to protect the logic board components with proper ventilation.

The machine is operating windows and apple os both fine on one fan. No problems but my own piece of mind.

@thetalldutchman - Can you get us the pics so we can see whats up.

My concern would be the stability of the system long term. I don't know the power ratings for the fan connections on the boards, without taking a multi meter and testing them first hand, so I would be curious if you could load the two fans on a single circuit without the potential of further damaging the functioning circuit. I think a potentially safer route to take would to do an extension on the existing wiring and tie it into one of the USB port pin outs, as those ports are not of major importance to the overall system. Heat shrink the connection points attaching the two lengths of wire to protect the board of course. That is my opinion, I'm sure there is an Apple genius here that might have more information, but that would be the route I would take.

In one of my bright moments i ordered a while back thermal paste, conductive glue. It came all the way from China as someone sings so beautifully. It came in a seringe and a needle. I am living in a nursing home, so i dropped it on the table where i was, in the activities room, and screamed that it wasn't mine. The administrator of the hospital researched it and i had forgotten that i did order it. It said nothing about what it was inside. In a junkie family someone could have hurt themselves.

Anyway, would such glue work? I think fans like to eat amperage, so i never tried.

Sadly no. you need to attach all four wires and the pads are not really big enough and the glue is not conductive enough for the higher current load the fan draws.
