Water dispenser switch KitchenAid

After 10 years of use the water dispenser switch (grey plastic cover) switch is hard to operate. What do I do to fix it. I have elderly people in my house and they cant push to get water

Is this the switch that you mean?

If so, perhaps the switch is failing to operate smoothly and needs to be replaced.
