How do I fix this issue? I don’t understand why it’s broken?

So I never dropped my iPad mini 2, there is really no reason why I have a damaged screen. But it appears with a gray haze over the screen. I tried to google how to fix it and I seen some YouTube videos that mentioned that you can smack the back of it and it would work properly but it only made it worse. I googled the symptoms of this issue again and I found some information saying that some times the magnetics parts can be shocked some how when leaving your iPad on the ground. If I am guilty of something it’s that I left my iPad on the floor ( my floor is tile . Not sure how a tile floor can damage any magnetic parts in the iPad mini 2 but if so what can I buy to did this issue ?

The magnetic strips (or blocks) are located inside the iPad on the left hand side and right hand side of the housing. They are held in with some glue if I remember correctly.

These may come out of place / become cracked if you drop your iPad a lot especially if the iPad Mini metal housing frame is bent / dented.

I don’t think they would be the cause of that issue. In any case the LCD screen display needs to be replaced as it’s gone bad.

I’ll link parts and guide if needed for a DIY repair:

iPad mini 2/3 LCD

iPad mini 1/2 Screen Digitizer

If you do plan to replace it I recommend buying a replacement LCD display (and digitizer as well) as it’s easy to crack the glass when opening up these iPad Minis.
