Is my speaker blown?

Was watching a video today and my speaker seemed to be very quiet. In the past its made kind of rattling noises when I play music loudly or a big bass but I turn the volume down when that happens. Its hard to tell if it is different as I don't really have any type of way to reference/compare how loud it normally sounds but I was watching the video with both the youtube volume and the computer volume at 100% and it seemed to be pretty quiet. If anyone knows a way I can test my speakers or find out if they are blown without dissecting my computer or going into an apple store (can't really pay to get it fixed atm - just want to know if there is a real issue) that would be great.

Hey Kaden

If your speakers are producing sound quietly with the volume tab maxed out then there is a 90% chance they are blown. Speakers can certainly be replaced inexpensivly and pretty easily at home. Before you order parts try to clean the connectors on the Logic Board.

Use a can of compressed air to eliminate any debris that may be interrupting the connection to the speakers. Please, please, please make sure to disconnect the battery to prevent unexpected shock. If the problem still occurs with the attempt of cleaning the Logic Board, its best to order a replacement set of speaker components. To replace them you will need to disconnect two cables and unscrew a couple screws and your done.

Hope this helps good luck!
