Xperia E5 stuck in boot loop

Hi! My Xperia E5 has been stuck in this awful boot loop for days now. I have no luck with the hard reset and I've already unplugged the battery (and plugged it back on w/ no hitches) but it still goes into the boot loop.

My alarm was going off, battery about to be drained (it had 2%) when it died. Charged it for 20% then turned it back on, only to encounter the boot loop.

What do I do? Thanks in advance.

There are a few things I'd like you to try.

First, pull the battery out if you can, and plug it in. Does it boot?

Can you boot into recovery? If there's any SD or SIM card, pull those out and try again.

Pull out the battery and leave it out for a good amount of time (couple of hours, to try and clear the cache).

Fully let it charge without trying to turn it on, if you can. Then unplug it and try again.

I've heard of some bootloops after battery dying caused by software, corruption of some files or partitions when the battery died. Those can be fixed.

Best of luck, report back with any developments.

Hey Kal, just saw this. I'll try all of the above.

I'd done your first suggestion a few days ago, but it didn't go past the Xperia logo.

Been trying to get in with Xperia Companion on my laptop, but the progress bar on the software repair process hasn't even gone past 10% and it's stalled too.

Thanks for answering my query. I'll keep in touch!

Hi, Kal!

Fortunately the Xperia Companion Software Repair worked on my E5.

I had to leave it overnight since it was loading so slowly, so I have no idea how long it took to accomplish. Xperia Companion prompted me to disconnect my device then turn it on like usual, and there my phone was, like nothing even happened. I think the battery unplug you suggested did some good. As I've said, I'd done it before you mentioned it but I really think it was what worked. Along with the software reset of course.

I had to delete all my files for the factory reset but at least I have my phone back.

Thank you for your help, really appreciate it! xoxo

I'm so glad to hear that!

Pulling the battery out for some time helps clear the memory (which can only hold information while it has power, even if the phone is off) and it may hold corrupted information which prevents the phone from starting.

I'm sorry about your files. Make sure to keep backups regularly!!

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with, best of luck!!!! xoxoxo!!

That happened to me aswell..

You could try *Sony mobile flasher by Androxyde* and flash a stock rom for your sony xperia e5.

If you have installed a custom recovery like TWRP.. then try clearing the cache and then reset the phone.

If that didn’t help you, add me on discord: DEEBEEHAXOR#1332 . Then we can talk.

Take care Abi!
