Why wont my phone work?

Well yesterday i got a phone and i couldn't turn it on so i had to charge it and i couldnt get in the phone because my brother messed it up now there's a list of options to reset the phone and now i cant get the thing off

Did your brother mess with the phone's software, or did he actually take it apart and then put it back together?
