Pink and purple screen

My camcorder screen is not showing anything. When I turn it on all it shows is purple and pink, and now the screen is all black and does not show anything. when recording the purple and pink would also be in the video and it would not show what I was trying to record. It's hard for me to explain whats going on with it.
