Screen replacement ghost touches.

My oneplus one's screen got cracked a couple months ago and i got a replacement screen/digitizer along with the midframe and i followed some procedure on youtube and successfully disassembled my one and hooked up the new replacement and it was working just fine untill a couple days ago when i started getting some ghost touches and it then elevated that an actual portion of the screen has no response at all..

after quite some time researching my final conclusion was that it was a gluing issue/grounding issue from the digitizer, but that only made sense for me regarding ghost touches, but can it also be the cause of non-responsive specific regions on the screen?
