Some unresponsive (reluctant) keys

Hello there

I am some trouble with the keyboard on my MacBook Air (11-inch , Mid 2012), and I hope some of you have ideas for a solution :). The problem regards certain keys in the right side of the keyboard (for example: Shift, P, Enter and some of the arrow keys) . The problem is not that the keys are not functioning at all, but rather that they are somewhat unresponsive ... this means that (at least for some of the keys) when I press them repeatedly (25-30 times) they start reacting (the Shift key, however, seems to be dead).

I’m considering changing the battery (since the computer indicates that it’s in a replace-soon condition), but am unsure whether this will fix my keyboard problem.

Would appreciate any inputs :)

Thanks!

My question is somewhat similar to the one in this post Why is my keyboard/trackpad not working?, with the difference described above.

Open it, remove the battery and plug the charger in (it will boot). Try the keys and if the issue is still there, the issue isn't the battery.

Check the keyboard connector on the trackpad board for liquid damage and also both sides of the trackpad cable. If there is no liquid damage on either the issue will be keyboard related.

Most likely it would be a keyboard issue, considering the shift key is not working at all. I think it is probably coincidental the battery is saying there is an issue (although you should replace this too, might expand in future).
