touch screen replacement issue

hi.

my htc desire 816 has a broken touch screen but the digitiser works well?

can i replace the touch screen only or do i have to replace both the digitiser and the touch screen?

for this model i don't know if it can be done but on ebay i have bought a touch screen seperate from its digitiser
