Amazon Fire TV turns on automatically everyday
It turns on automatically at specific time at 1 am and around 6am. What is the issue and how to fix it?

The setting on the Fire TV to enable / disable the TV being switched on automatically can be found here:
Settings -> Display & Sounds -> HDMI CEC Device Control
Set it to ON to auto switch on the TV, or OFF to not.

This answer addresses how to stop the TV coming from coming on automatically with Fire TV, but NOT why Fire TV itself comes on, on its own. I have same problem, and haven't found an answer yet.
Mine is on but still does not turn the tv on. I have a new fire tv 4K box. My old fire stick used to turn the tv on but the fire tv box does not.
I’m having the same problem. My TV just comes on randomly. I can’t seem to find away to make it stop.
My fire TV box will turn the TV off, but then like 10 seconds later turn it back on.
I found that once I turned that above described switch under settings off and I consistently use only the on/off switch on the insignia remote, and never use the on/off button on my Wi-Fi provider remote, except to watch regular tv, use on demand, guide, and other functions I can only get through the provider remote, the tv has stopped turning on randomly, day and night. I am still monitoring it. Only has been two days.

It looks as if there is a setting telling it when to turn on. Go into settings and look for an option like Auto turn on or set a time to turn on or something like that. If you find one thats your problem. If not contact Amazon and ask them. They made it and they will know how to fix it.

Wasted hours with them, they act like they never heard of this!
Typical of Amazon. Thousands and thousands of people are calling them and they pretend that it's our fault when they know darned well it is something they did. They did the exact same thing with the Silverlight issue. They knew for a fact the problem was on their end, but they kept telling people that called in that it was their fault.

I found under settings->Equipment Control->Manage Equipment->TV->Power Controls->Power Command Repetition, the Power On option was set to twice. Changing it to once seems to fix the issue with the TV turning back on after turning it off. I also changed the delay to 5 seconds instead of 12.

I went to settings, device & software. I selected "sleep". This puts it to sleep. To wake it up press the POWER button.

Neither of the above solutions worked for my Fire TV. In particular, in Settings under Equipment Control there is only Add Equipment- no Power options. The auto turn on after turn off problem has recurred even though I have the latest Fire OS update and restarted the Fire TV numerous times. I even unplugged it for 3 hours, then plugged in again, turned it off via the remote, but it turned itself ON after about 5 minutes. Arghhh!

Also, Fire TV turned on by itself after I put it to SLEEP without me pressing the Power button on the remote

My Toshiba(Fire Tv) comes on intermittently. It came on at 345 this morning and at the same time about two weeks ago.

mine does that every 2 weeks too. Stays on for a minute then goes off. Some sort of an update? I cannot find any timers or switches in setup to stop it.
My Toshiba Fire TV turns on randomly too, and usually turns the volume all the way up. Many times it's just the sound and no picture. Sometimes both. I've also had the sound on one source stay on, even if you change input sources, and even once you turn off the TV. Sounds stays on. You have to unplug it to stop it. I've put a smart switch on my TV and have it turn the power to it off with Alexa. It's the only sure way to keep it from blaring out in the middle of the night. I've tried all of the suggestions here and on other forums with no luck. I just chalk it up to Amazon junk. I'm close to taking the TV out to the trash and buying a real TV and not a glorified tablet.

I have tried all of these options and my Toshiba fire tv still randomly turns on…
Its only a couple of years old. Now I just unplug it every night so it doesn’t wake me up. Definitely wont be purchasing this type of tv again

I did the same thing. Put it on a smart switch. "Alexa, turn off the Fire TV" Now I can sleep at night. Junk!

If your Amazon Fire TV turns on everday at same time you definitely have a "wake-up" timer set.

For me, this happens whenever I do announcements with my other Echo devices. I believe that if you go to the Fire TV settings there’s an option for auto TV on. If there isn’t one, try the TV’s settings.

Okay so I figured it would be good to add my experience with this as well. Our Insignia Fire TV got progressively worse where the TV would turn itself on and immediately go to Netflix for some reason. We couldn’t figure it out and no one online had answered the question as to fix it. Some people had similar issues but not exactly with Netflix being forced open NO MATTER WHAT! Gosh it was frustrating. Well of course it ended up being 100% the remotes fault that had some glitch or burned chip inside and you can test this by removing the batteries and seeing if the issue persists so we ordered another remote cheap from amazon and it works like a charm now. 10/10 we figured it out without breaking our TV and our house is not haunted! I hope this helped someone and best of luck!

I was having an issue where the fire tv remote would turn my receiver and my stick off and then the stick would turn back on, receiver would stay off. I found in the equipment area that I needed to reset my tv equipment to the correct setting. Now everything turns off together and stays off.

I don’t want the TV to come on unless I turn it on. Every time Alexa has an announcement the TV turns on a minute before. I don’t want it to.

If you perform a factory reset this will fix your problem. At some point during an update the TV would have turned on a function to cause this to happen. The factory reset will undo any of those unwanted glitches.

I reported this problem to AMZN in Jan 2021 and it remains unresolved. Fire TV went on by itself (Oct 23, 2021) at 4:42pm PDT without anyone touching the remote or uttering a sound.

Also, when I ask Alexa on Echo Speaker a question, she often turns on Fire TV and says "here you go"
