Where I Can find a Power Button?

Power Button does not work to power on (or power off), my iMac 27"late 2012?

Can I change/install a new Power Button? Where I can find it?

Thanks!

Jairo

While you have a 27" model the problem is the same as this one: Cable from power button broke during hard drive replacement.

I would bring it into an Apple Store to have them fix it. It might be even an extended warranty repair (free) if you didn't damage it in any way.

Thanks for your help, Dan! :)

The computer is out of warranty... :(

It is absurd to apple not to have this as a spare!

It does not make sense to have to change the entire housing of the computer, because of a defect in the Power Button ...

I do not know, if it is possible, remove this button, and put another (not original) and it's place...

What do you think?

Thanks, again!

Are you sure the button is bad Vs the power supply? Did you test the button. Is it possible to cable or the logic board connector is the real issue here?

Personally I've not encountered a bad iMac power switch! I've had a few laptops with bad ones but given where they are it makes sense why they died. I would look at the connector or the wire being damaged if it was serviced by someone who didn't use enough care.

What can I say, Apple is Apple! Joni's design team often doesn't make it easy to repair things.

The power button is epoxied into the case so it will be hard even to remove the old one or salvage it from a junker.

Even though its out of warranty I would give Apple a try. Often with a tear running down ones face they will give you a repair exception when its clearly a defect (as this would be an odd case).
