Here is a link to a video that shows the button contacts on a Garmin 60CSx that has been opened. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoVzdmog...

You need to clean the button contacts on the pcb with a QTip (cotton bud) lightly moistened with Isopropyl Alcohol 90%+. The underside of the rubber buttons have a conductive coating which also can be cleaned the same way. It may be that the 'coating' on the rubber buttons has been worn off with use. If this is the case you can try to apply a thin coating of conductive glue or paint to the underside of the affected button. This is available on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40... I have used this method in the past with mixed results. It mostly didn't last very long.
