If I copy from the flatbed everything works fine. However if I copy or scan using the ADF, then a black vertical line appears down the center of the output document.
I wonder if there is dust or dirt in the ADF causing the line to appear, if so where can I find instructions for opening and cleaning ADF.

This problem occurred with my Epson WP-4530 when using the ADF to scan. Epson manual says to avoid chemical when cleaning the ADF, but I could only remove the lines by using alcohol. Dry cleanig wold not work, but alcohol worked great!

Thank you, thank you! I removed the lines using rubbing alcohol and a microfibre cloth on the glass, the clear plastic on the ADF, and all around the clear plastic on the ADF. Clear as a bell now!!
It took spraying condensed air on the rollers to clear up my problem.

Cleaned small glass panel on left. Small ink blot removed with alcohol. Removed line on feeder and feeder scan copies.

Tried wiping the ‘small glass panel on left’ with a dry cloth but this didn’t help. Went at it again with a cloth dampened with alcohol screen cleaner and problem solved.

Like some others who've posted, I inspected the small glass panel...subtle amounts of schmutz on it. Took some Windex and elbow grease to remove it. BUT......the effort was worth it......the two vertical black streaks on all my ADF-scanned documents were GONE !
Thanks for the suggestion.
After using microfiber with alcohol it's gone.

Didnt work. Cleaned the entire ADF area and nothing helped

Cleaning didnt work. The line is very straight, top to bottom, not smudged like dirt. Almost like a scratch.

IT WORKED! Cleaned the small space of my Epson WF-3530 with alcohol and cotton ball. My documents (scanned, copied, faxed) have had red streaks for over 2 years or so.
I'm excited the problem is solved and was free to resolve. :)
