Windows 10 HDMI Connection Intel Graphics Issue

Hey,

I have updated to windows 10 from 7 and I am having the next issue:

When I connect my HDMI cabble to the computer,

the Notebook doesn't recognize the 2nd screen(TV)

I noticed the issue occurs because of the Intel driver.

When I Uninstall "Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000",

The Notebook recognizes the 2nd screen using Nvidia GeForce Driver.

Enviorment Information:

Notebook: Asus N55SF

Operation System: Windows 10

Display adapters: "Gefore GT 555M" & "Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000"

you just need to update the graphics driver visit asus http://goo.gl/vB0wbJ and see if that solves the issue .

The above link from Gabriel is *NOT* the official ASUS tech site. I would check Asus' site first for any updates. The link above appears to be a generic PC repair/support service (i.e., they will charge you $$$$).

IOBit's freeware Driver Booster works really well for updating drivers.

Hi there!

Sorry for my english in advance,

I searched a lot for a solution since i suffered from the same issue,

nothing helped but with some experiments the following simple steps solved my problem (intel hd 3000 on 2nd gen which they say is not supported any more):

1. Connect the HDMI cable to the TV.

2. Device Manager-> Display adapters

3. Right click on "Intel(R) HD Graphics xxxx" (Your graphic card) and disable.

4. Right click again and enable.

Thats it! don't be skeptic (-:

after trying too many drivers unsuccessfully, i was suprised how simple was that.

Note: You need to repeat those steps everytime you connect your laptop to the TV

I swear you are my god :'D !!

I've been searching for a fix for this issue for countless hours (or at least since windows 10 last annoying update -not that any of them isn't annoying- ) and was sadly coming to a dead point (upgraded and downgraded the drivers, adjusted display's resolution and settings, changed the cable, turned things on and off a million times and even tried the cable and tv on a different laptop -where they worked with no trouble-)

I was really giving up and then suddenly this worked like magic!

Thank you sooooo much ! <3

Thank you for saving me from pulling my hair out, the world needs more people like you!

I'm glad I was able to help you guys.

omniscar13,

When you're disabling your display adapter the system switches to the generic windows driver which has awful resolution but yet it is good enough to let you enable your display adapter.

First check if your intel hd drivers are installed properly then follow my instructions.

Hey Rafi,

for me it was about uninstalling the card and then finding the good driver. I tried many so cannot point for a particular solution, but here are my steps (accessed my devices using devmgmt.msc in the Run command):

  • I uninstalled (right-click -> uninstall) the Intel HD card.
  • I downloaded and ran Intel's Driver Update Utility.
  • I tried many many different drivers that I could find on Intel's Download Center, the one that worked for me is `win64_153338.exe`, that you can find here. You might also want to try this one.

Good luck!

I had the same issue with the same Graphics card. After a few days of trial and error. Here's what worked for me.

Power off your laptop and keep it unplugged

Take out the battery

Hold the power button down for about 20 seconds

Plug back in the wall and/or put battery back in

Plug in the Hdmi to your laptop

Power on your computer

Your computer from this point may search and find the driver to run the Hdmi , mine did. Hope it works for you.

After months of the issue I finally solved this problem. You cannot turn the PC on then turn the TV on. It wont work. First thing you have to do is turn TV on. Wait til its on THEN turn PC on. Works every time now.

Download and run “Display Driver Uninstaller “

from either:

https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details...

or

https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

Important to read and follow instructions!!!

This program removes all traces of previous drivers, which is where the minor glitches usually reside. It gives you a fresh start, like a fresh re-install of Windows, if you like.

You will then boot-up and see MS’s generic graphics driver “Basic Display Adaptor” in Device manger.

Install the latest driver for your graphics adapter.

Just to let every know I have been having the same problem when connected laptop to TV. The only thing that has worked is Device Manager, right click Intel 300 etc and put disable, then enable. It is so silly but at least it works.

Another tip. My TV is a Samsung 50inch and it has an issue with HDMI power down. A solution is to turn TV off (from mains) and turn laptop off. Turn TV on, go to HDMI where you have connected to laptop.

Now turn on PC connected to TV with HDMI and that should solve most problems other than graphic driver.

Just to reply to my previous comment above I have found a successful working solution to this problem. The problem was in trying to update to the latest Intel graphics driver. The fix was to go to my laptops model number drivers repository (for example A54C and install the driver from there.

for example VGA driver from.

https://www.asus.com/support/Download/3/...

Also suggest to update BIOS. This has fixed all the issues I had been having around 2-3 months.

I’d like to add how I resolved this issue because for me none of the above actions worked.

My older netbook is Asus X201E (with Windows 10) - HDMI connected to Samsung 27 Inch monitor.

Surprisingly, this finally worked (should have tried first): Desktop right click - Graphics Options - Output to - Digital Television (select)

(After that, many more resolutions became available in the Graphics gui, and even bloody Win10 warned that my resolution was not optimal at this point …)
