trackpad malfunction from fall?

I recently dropped my 13" macbook pro and found that immediately after this fall, the track pad was not working. Some of its erratic behavior now includes opening new folders, highlighting text, and automatically doing actions that would require me to hit "control" followed by a click. I'm assuming the fall is to blame. I'm wondering now if I will have to replace the track pad entirely to fix the problem, and how hard it is to access.

There might be a stuck key or a keyboard malfunction that make the macbook think those keys are being pressed down. Besides replacing the keyboard you could open the keyboard viewer to see if the keyboard registers any keys being pressing. If the are pressed down the keys turn gray.

You could always go into the keyboard preferences and disable the keys that seem to be malfunctioning. Of course if this doesn't work you can alway use an external keyboard and disable the internal.
