snapped plastic part holding the connection cable from fan to power

did you find a solution to this? I am having the same problem

Update

I'm working on 1 (if the question was to me)! - it's a late 2010 13 inch air. I snapped the plastic part holding the connection cable from the fan to the power. I figure that just holds it in place though? Would that be my problem, or is it more likely sugar corrosion damage? I have pics, but am not sure how to upload them... Ps. Thank you dan so much for your answer to my question about the liquid spill. You really really saved me. Batt is fine and everything is up and running, just having problems with the fan not working.

Also, I know this is a million questions, but just one more thing- can I use it without the fan working or is that a very terrible idea?

THANKS!

So I took it to a professional, some guys who seemed like they really knew what they were talking about. The a couple of connections on the IO board needed re-soldering, and the fan connection also needed to be soldered on. BUT my macbook is now up and running (all be it with an external keyboard, because i didn't get the keyboard replaced and it is still pretty sticky.)

So basically good news.

Thanks again for your help.

The line should still be just visible.

I'm confused here how many Air's are you working on here, Two? As you have a second Q on an older model.

UPDATE

Very bad idea ;-{

You'll cook your system. If you just want to see quickly if you've got it together correctly thats one thing. Using it long term is the big no no.
