Will Not Power On
When trying to turn on the phone it will not light up or power on.
Bad Battery
If the phone won’t turn on at all and won’t charge then this can indicate a bad battery. Try taking the battery out and putting it back in and then letting it charge. Also, check the phone display to ensure it doesn’t say “No Battery”. If this message is displayed this indicates there is not battery or the battery is not properly connected. Verify the wires from the battery are connected to the port on the phone. If this does not work you may need to replace your battery.
Dead Battery
First try to let the phone charge for an hour and try to power on the phone again. When docking the phone the charge LED light in the top left corner should light up indicated that the battery was dead and it just needed to charge. If it does not light up then this could be a bad battery or other problems. You may need to replace your battery with a new battery.
Audio Distortion
When turning on the phone there is an unusual noise or no noise at all.
Buzzing
Buzzing noises on the line could indicate incorrect wiring or wires touching metal. In this case you may need to find the correct wiring diagram for that particular phone and verify the right colored wires are connected in the right spots. Also, check to see if any wires are touching metal. This could cause them to ground and the phone to make this noise.
No Noise
No noise could indicate that a wire is not connected or a wire has shorted. Check to ensure the wires aren’t touching each other and that they are properly covered with insulation. If no noise or low volume during a call check to ensure that the volume is turned on. Also make sure the mute button is not enabled. If this does not resolve the problem this could be a bad speaker. Here is a Speaker Replacement guide.
Static
This can mean the wire is wet or there is a loose connection. Check the wires and look for loose wires or moisture.
Buttons Not Working
When pressing down on a button on the phone it won’t work.
Sticking Buttons
Ensure that there is nothing around the button making it stay pressed down. Check for debris like food or sticky substances. Clean the buttons and the surrounding gaps of the button.
Button Not Connecting
If the button will not work at all this can be a problem with something internal. The button can be damaged or there can be a bad connection between the button and the display. This may need to be replaced or reconnected. Here is a Button Repair guide
Will Not Charge
When the phone is on the charging unit it will not charge.
Bad Base
Check to make sure that the charging cable is securely connected to the base and to the wall outlet. Also check to make sure that the contact pins that connect the base to the phone are free of debris. If the connections are working, but the phone is still not charging, this could indicate a problem with the inside of the charging station. Try charging the phone on the other base to ensure that it is a problem with that particular base and not with the inside of the handset. Also, check the fuse on the main base. Here is a Fuse Replacement guide if the fuse is blown.
Bad Handset
If the phone will not charge when placed on the charging station, try placing it on the other charging station. If the phone still won’t charge, it could indicate a fault inside the handset. You may need to replace the handset provided that the battery works fine. Also try swapping the batteries between handsets to see if it’s a battery problem.
Bad Battery
If the phone won’t charge then this can indicate a bad battery. Double check to make sure the charge LED in the top left corner is on indicating it is charging. Try taking the battery out and putting it back in and then letting it charge. If this does not work you may need to replace your battery.
Not Sending or Receiving Calls
When attempting to receive or send a call the call will not go through.
No Power at Base
If you see “No Power at Base” displayed on the phone screen make sure the base is plugged into an outlet. Also, check to make sure the wires leading to the base and the wires leading to the outlet are not damaged. In the event that the wires inside the base are damaged here is a Charging Wire Repair guide.
Bad Landline Connection
If “No Line” is displayed on the phone screen check to ensure the landline is properly plugged into the port on the phone base. Also, ensure the wires leading from the phone to the landline outlet aren’t damaged. Check to make sure the landline ports aren’t damaged. If none of these resolve the issue you may need to contact your phone landline provider. If the port is damaged the next steps would be to fix the port. A repair guide might be necessary.
Mute Button/Volume
If the person trying to receive the call cannot hear you ensure that the mute button is not enabled. Try pressing the mute button to disable it or turning up the volume on the phone. Also, contact the person receiving the call to ensure their audio is functioning properly. If this does not work there may be some audio problems with the phone.
