LCD screen is blank, but still responds to touch
When I turn the power on the LCD screen does not show anything, but still lights up at my touch.
Damaged Flex Cable
If you touch the LCD screen and it responds but does not show what you are filming, then the flex cable that runs from the main board to the LCD screen may be damaged. To fix this you can replace the flex cable and this should solve the issue.
LCD screen is blank, but does NOT respond to touch
When I turn the power on, the LCD screen does not show anything and does not respond to my touch.
Damaged or Malfunctioning LCD Screen
If you turn the camera on and the screen is completely dark and unresponsive this is a symptom of a failed LCD. If it is the screen the only thing to do is replace it.
Malfunctioning Flex Cable
If turning the camera on presents only a dark and unresponsive scree then the flex cable that runs from the main board to the LCD screen may be damaged. This is a fairly easy replaceable part of the camera.
LCD screen is displaying a distorted image
The image displayed on the screen of my camera doesn't look right.
Failing CCD Image Sensor
If the LCD screen on your camera is showing lines and/or a distorted image this could be a failing CCD image sensor and it will need to be replaced.
Moisture condensation error
The words "moisture condensation error" are present when I look through the viewfinder
Residual Moisture Within the Camera
If this error appears it means there is some moisture within the camera. To solve this problem let the camera dry while turned off for no less than one hour. This can be caused by abrupt temperature changes, so to prevent this from happening you can place the camera in a sealed plastic bag before going from a cold place to warm place.

My LCD screen is working yet does not respond to touch.

really want to know what happened after that, i have one, doesnt seem to run off power directly, but battery is dying and not available and now the touchscreen doesnt work

My Sony DCR HC30 comes on and displays all proper instructions but does not respond to touch at all. What can I do?

my camera comes on but says unable to display tape

my LCD screen comes on but does not respond to touch. to fix is it the same flex cable repair? nothing in the guide works including trying to calibrate - cant calibrate anything because the screen does not respond to any touch.

Any tips on getting tape put with no power source? I've long lost the power cables but can't get tape out

I had a problem, where the screen showed picture perfectly but didn't respond to touch: no lcd button worked. I ordered a new flex cable from aliexpress, changed it, no help. Then ordered a new LCD display for the model (20 dollars), changed it (much easier job than changing the flex cable), and works perfectly!
