Inter-tel IP 8660 Troubleshooting
- Inter-tel IP 8660 won't turn on

Inter-tel IP 8660 won't turn on ¶
No matter what you do, you can't get your Inter-tel IP 8660 to turn on.
Bad Power Supply ¶
It could be the case that the outlet your phone is plugged into is faulty. To check this, unplug the phone and try plugging in another electronic device you know to be working.
Bad display ¶
It is possible that it appears nothing is happening because the display is bad. If a dial tone comes from the phone but nothing appears on the screen it is possible the display is bad and must be replaced.
Bad motherboard ¶
If nothing at all happens with the phone the problem most likely lies in the motherboard.
My LCD screen won't turn on ¶
The phone has power but the LCD screen is blank.
Contrast is turned up or down too much ¶
This can be adjusted by first placing the phone in the cradle and dialing 303. Then adjust contrast using the volume up and down keys. When finished adjusting, press accept on the LCD screen.
Broken LCD screen ¶
If not the result of a contrast issue, your LCD screen may be broken and need to be replaced.
No Audio ¶
No audio can be heard from either the entire phone or specific parts like headset or speaker.
Firewall conflict ¶
If the headset mode has been activated, the audio problems maybe the result of a firewall conflict. Contact your system administrator to see if the audio issue is the result of a firewall conflict. If so, they can resolve it.
Headset mode is off ¶
If the audio problem is localized to the headset it may be because the headset mode is off. Headset mode can be turned on by placing the phone in the cradle and dialing 315 (Headset on feature code) or 317 (headset on/off feature code). If Headset was off either should work and the display should show HEADSET MODE ON.
Bad headset receiver ¶
If the audio through just the headset is faulty and its not due to a firewall conflict or the mode is off the headset receiver may need to be replaced.
Bad Handset microphone ¶
If audio output in headset is faulty and not due to a firewall conflict or the mode is off, the headset microphone may need to be replaced.
Bad Internal Speaker ¶
If the audio problem is not the result of firmware conflict and is localized to just speaker mode this may indicate a faulty internal speaker that would need to get replaced.
Bad motherboard ¶
If audio problem is not the result of firmware conflict but persists in all parts of the phone you may have a faulty motherboard.
Unresponsive/ Sticky buttons ¶

This will generally require that you tear-down the phone and either clean the connections between the buttons and the motherboard or replace the button pad altogether.
